A 50-year-old man was arrested red-handed by the Carabinieri of the Messina Main Station and the Radiomobile Unit on charges of persecution. The intervention took place yesterday inside a reception center for homeless people.
The intervention of the Carabinieri
The arrest occurred after a call to the emergency number 112 NUE, which reported that a man was attacking a woman inside the facility.
The military intervened promptly on the spot, blocking the 50-year-old, already known to the police and subjected to Special Public Security Surveillance.
The harassment reconstructed by investigators
According to what was reconstructed by the Carabinieri, the victim, a 30-year-old woman, suffered repeated psychological harassment from the 50-year-old, never reported for fear of retaliation.
The disputed conduct includes death threats, stalking and continuous intimidation aimed at taking away her minor children from a previous marriage.

The intervention of the military made it possible to adopt the urgent measures foreseen for the victims of the “Code Red”.
The 50-year-old was then arrested and taken to the Messina Gazzi prison, at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
