In view of the football match between ACR Messina and Calcio Foggia 1920, scheduled for Saturday 10 May at the “Franco Scoglio” stadium, the Prefecture of Messina ordered specific measures to guarantee public order. Following the determination of the Analysis Committee for the safety of sporting events, the Prefect Cosima di Stani issued a measure that prohibits the sale of coupons to residents in the province of Foggia, thus preventing the trip to the guest fans. The decision was made for security reasons, in the light of the assessments conducted in the committee. The meeting is considered to be high risk for the rivalry between the two fans, and the measure adopted aims to prevent possible disorders and guarantee the peaceful performance of the sports event. The Prefecture also reiterated the need for careful vigilance and coordination between the police during the entire day of the match.
