An elite traffic police officer is hospitalized in very serious conditions in the intensive care unit of the Polyclinic after being involved in a road accident last night on the ring road. The dynamics are still being examined by colleagues from the Messina Polstrada. The accident may have been caused by a pirate car that hit the 30-year-old policeman's moped but there is no confirmation of this reconstruction.
It will be the investigations and possibly the images of some video surveillance cameras that will clarify the details of the very serious accident which occurred just before 2am.
The agent, on duty at the Reggio Calabria police station, having finished his tour of duty, driving his MTV 150 moped, he was returning home to Galati marina. Arrived a few tens of meters from the Tremestieri motorway service station the 30-year-old lost control of the vehicle which crashed violently into the guard rail. Some passing motorists spotted the young man's body and raised the alarm.
The first to arrive on site were colleagues from Messina. With a 118 ambulance the policeman was transported to the polyclinic, initially to Neurosurgery, then in the morning the transfer to Intensive Care where he is hospitalized with a reserved prognosis. The Messina Polstrada commander Antonio Capodicasa coordinated the investigations. First of all, it is necessary to establish whether the accident was caused by a car whose driver fled without providing help.
