An important cleaning and environmental reclamation intervention has returned decoration and dignity to the perimeter area of the nature reserve “Capo Peloro lagoon”a place of extraordinary naturalistic value and symbol of the Messina landscape identity. Thanks to the synergy between the metropolitan city, as manager of the reserve, the Municipality of Messina and Messinaservizi Bene Comune, men and means were mobilized to face a situation of environmental degradation caused by the indiscriminate abandonment of waste by unknown incivile citizens. The operation, conducted today under the narrow surveillance of the metropolitan city, allowed the removal of polluting materials of various kinds: tires, a abandoned refrigerator and large quantities of plastic and other solid waste, all abandoned along the edge of Lake Faro.
