The “Messina Street Food Fest” relaunches the ambitions of this sixth edition conditioned by bad weather, with the extraordinary opening also next weekend, from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th. An announcement that comes live on television, in the RTP special hosted by Salvatore De Mariaby the mayor Federico Basile and by the administrator of “Eventually” and creator of the event Alberto Palella: «In consideration of the stop on Saturday and the rain on Friday evening – says the mayor of Messina – the three days of next week will be able to give, to those who were unable to do so, the opportunity to experience the “Messina Street Food Fest “, an event that has now entered the hearts of our citizens.”
The village of taste will thus still be operational: «It fills my heart with joy to see this full and festive square – says a beaming Alberto Palella – and I would like it to be like this all year round. People feel good, they are having fun and there is a festive and fun atmosphere: so we are all looking forward to next weekend in Piazza Cairoli with the caravan of taste.”
The further three days of “Messina Street Food Fest” compensate not only for the stop imposed on Saturday by the weather alert, but also for the considerable outlays for rental and setup of the village and the expenses incurred by the operators who come from outside Messina: «There are seven – continues Palella – they will return home to Puglia, Abruzzo and Campania and then they will all return to Messina. Even our entire organization “slides” by a week, so the awards ceremony, initially scheduled for tonight (yesterday, ed.), slips to next weekend. The three new cooking shows will also have to be organized and everything will have to be done in the best possible way, to give the response that the cities and citizens who come here to have fun deserve.”
