The City Council approved the address documents to the design relating to restoration, redevelopment, enhancement and revitalization of the Hypogea gallery, of the Loggiato or Gallery of the Portici, the Cenobio and the Famedioinside the Grand Camposanto of Messina.
The proposed interventions are part of the Fua-Por 2021-2027 programming, with the aim of restoring the decoration, functionality and historical-artistic value of one of the most significant places in city memory. Great satisfaction was expressed by the city councilor with delegation to the cemeteries Massimiliano Minutoli: «These are rather important interventions which, in addition to redeveloping spaces of significant architectural value, project the great cemetery towards a dimension of tourist, historical and cultural interest. It is a further step forward aimed at enhancing our heritage and the offer of new paths of knowledge to citizenship and also to visitors “.
