After thirty years of abandonment and degradation, the historic municipal pine forest of Montepiselli returns to new life, returned to the city as “pine forest of the embrace”. A powerful symbol of rebirth and a new point of reference for the community, officially inaugurated by the Basile Administration, in continuity with the work started by the previous Giunta De Luca, in collaboration with Messina Social City, AMAM and MSBC.
This green space, once a landfill, had already been recovered two years ago, welcoming a “game space” inside which hosts 50 children between 18 and 36 months daily. The families of the neighborhood soon learned to appreciate the pine forest, thanks also to the Inclusive games and at the Book Sharing. The choice of the name “pine forest of the embrace” consolidates this vocation to welcome and sharing.
The inauguration party saw the participation of numerous families with children and citizens who took part in the biological snack based on honey and bread also accompanied by musical moments. At the center of the event, the new sign there “Pineta of the embrace. In this place it is mandatory to embrace”designed as an instagrammable point where you can take a photo and share a special moment with the use of the hashtag #ahciainpineta.
“We did not limit ourselves to returning to the city a green and well -kept space, but we have made this space a stage of emotions, a symbolic place, where people can find themselves, embrace each other, be together and build memories that strengthen their bond with Messina. A hug to nature, to the community and a more sustainable future,” said the president of the Messina Social City, Valeria Asquini.
The pine forest wants to become one of the symbolic places of the link between citizens and the environment. The photographic sign at the entrance is an invitation so that everyone can leave a mark, a memory, a photo that celebrates a special moment shared with nature.
