Alfa returns to Messinajust over a month after performing at the Rds Summer Festival, with one of the stops on his summer tour “I don’t know who created the world, but I know he was in love” in aCape Peloro Arena also refreshed by the light-heartedness of the Genoese boy.
On his 24th birthday, Andrea De Filippi, Alfa’s real name, gives us a couple of hours of good music, holding the stage with great ease and his unmistakable black t-shirt with a little yellow heartbut without excess, a sign of how for him the person and the artist always win over the character. And the fans, present in over 1500, in turn, fill him with good wishes, complete with a number and a cake as a gift.
“Non so chi ha creare il mondo” and “Wanderlust!” open his performance in Messina: a little storyteller, also thinking back to the interview he gave to Marco Bonardelli in recent days, because in his songs «There are all the facets of life and the daily routine of a 23-year-old boy who talks about himself. Not only the search for love, but also the anxiety of the future». Like the dreams come true described in that “5 minuti” that he will sing in the final part of the concert and whose words perfectly capture his current state of mind: «Let me dream in peace. Five more minutes».
Simple, but never banal like the hundred or so mini tattoos he has on his arms, Alfa’s success finally exploded last year with “Bellissimissima” and was consecrated in February at the Sanremo Festival with “Vai!”, reaching tenth place in the charts, and with the splendid duet with Roberto Vecchioni of “Sogna ragazzo sogna”.
Rich setlist, there is the very first success and gold record “Dove sei?” taken from “Before Wanderlust” the debut album recorded when he was just eighteen; the splendid “Frida”, but also “San Lorenzo”, the feat. with Annalisa from 2020 certified platinum record. And again “Parigi”, “Sofia” and “Vabbè ciao”, the hit of this summer: there are the sounds of his folk-pop, but a genre is not enough to identify Alfa’s music, because confining him to a label or a definition like that of “rapper” limits, in his simplicity, that ability to be multifaceted and essential.
Like that beautiful, indeed very beautiful, August evening from your adolescence that you carry in your heart even after so many years.
