There will be at least five candidates for mayor, obviously excluding the obligation to collect and deposit the necessary signatures. We already know about Federico Basile for the outgoing administration and Marcello Scurria for the centre-right, just as Lillo Valvieri’s hairdresser has been presenting himself as an outsider for weeks. The centre-left, as can be read next, will sooner or later arrive at a solution. In the meantime, however, the one to break the deadlock is the civic movement Rinascita Messina, founded by the engineer Gaetano Sciacca, who after the break with Scurria himself approached the former magistrate Angelo Giorgianni who, in turn, created another movement, Ora Basta. From the union of these forces, but not only, another candidacy for mayor will be born: a Sciacca-Giorgianni ticket, in which Sciacca, who had already been a candidate in 2018 with the 5 Star Movement, will most likely run for the tricolor band, with Giorgianni designated deputy.
More will be known on Thursday at 5pm in the multimedia room of the institute of the Rogationist Fathers of Christ the King, when the mayoral candidate will be presented and, we read in a note, «the details of the support of the Sicilian Autonomous Movements Federation for our project will be made public, which will materialize with a supporting list. Other important alliances will also be presented for this electoral campaign, which involve local civic committees, regional and national political movements.” (seb.casp.)
