The organizational machinery for the visit to Gesso by Jill Biden, the American first lady, began a long time ago. But it is from this evening that the small hilly village of Messina, inhabited by around 600 souls, will begin to be armored, on the occasion of an event whose exceptional nature speaks for itself. Already from 8pm today and until 3pm on Wednesday 4th – the day on which the wife of the man who, awaiting the inauguration of Donald Trump, is still the president of the United States, Joe Biden is scheduled to visit (but he is not there will be, in those days it should be in Africa – there will be a parking ban, with a forced removal zone, in the entire area of Piazza Sant’Antonio Abate, the central square of the church of Gesso, the “heart” of the village and of the visit of Jill Biden. Or rather, Jill Jacobs, anglicization of the very Messina surname Giacoppo.
The time indicated by the ban suggests how plausible the rumors are according to which the first lady’s visit should take place late Wednesday morning, lasting approximately a couple of hours. From 2pm tomorrow, however, and again until 3pm on Wednesday, the parking ban, again with a forced removal zone, will be extended to the entire area of Piazza Castello and to both sides of via Belvedere, via c.da Castello , via Madonna delle Grazie and via Milazzo. This according to a first ordinance, signed by the director of the Urban Mobility department of the Municipality, Pietro Certo, on November 29th, to which another was added the following day, due to some precautions decided in one of the many briefings that were held in recent days. From tomorrow, therefore, the parking ban will also affect (always from 2pm and until 3pm on Wednesday) also via Panarea, San Sebastiano, Onofrio Gabrieli (in the stretch between via San Sebastiano and piazza Sant’Antonio Abate), but also along the entire road that goes from Piazza Castello to State Road 113, towards the cemetery (the continuation of Via Belvedere up to the intersection with the State Road, cemetery side).
To all these prohibitions, which concern parking, others will be added, which will also prohibit transit, on the same day of the visit, Wednesday 4th, also in this case arranged with two ordinances. From 7am on Wednesday until 2pm, therefore, it will not be possible to drive by car in via Madonne delle Grazie, in via Milazzo, in piazza Castello, in via Belvedere, in via c.da Castello and, after a further technical table, it was decided to also add the streets where from tomorrow it will not be possible to park, and therefore: via Panarea, San Sebastiano, Onofrio Gabrieli (between via San Sebastiano and piazza Sant’Antonio Abate), the road between piazza Castello and State Road 113, towards the cemetery.
