Contensses prepares to live an extraordinary event: Saturday 7 June 2025, on the occasion of the centenary of the Immaculate Church, the “White Night 2025” will be held, promoted by the Immaculate Parish of Contensses, led by Father Cleto D’Agostinosponsored and with the support of the Municipality of Messina and the II Municipality, in collaboration with the Cardo Music Association, and institutional, cultural and technical partners.
The initiative, officially presented in recent days in Villa De Pasquale, in the presence of the mayor Federico Basile and the president of the second district Davide Siracusanois part of the activities promoted to enhance peripheral realities through moments of aggregation and active participation.
Great was the support of the municipal administration, which flanked the organization in all stages, thanks to the commitment of the competent departments: the Department of Big Eventi and Productive Activities, led by Massimo Finocchiaro, has guaranteed the coordination and integration of economic and entertainment initiatives; Logistic and security support was ensured by the municipal civil protection under the direction of the councilor Massimiliano Minutoli; and the Department of Culture and Tourism, with Enzo Carusofor the cultural aspect of the event.
A significant contribution will also be ensured by the municipal investee companies, each for its own competences, in order to guarantee the best performance of the event. An event, therefore, which represents a concrete expression of the proximity of the municipal administration to the Municipalities, in the belief that the suburbs must be the protagonists of the cultural and social life of the city.
The program articulated from 7 to 10 June provides for a rich calendar of appointments that will animate the district of Countesses for four days in the name of culture, music, spirituality and sharing.
In addition to the “White Night” on Saturday 7, the beating heart of the initiative, the billboard develops with religious events, live shows, moments dedicated to children, exhibitions and cultural meetings.

Calispera Church – discovery of the hidden treasures of Calispera; Sacred icon exposure and Sacred Copy Shroud; Photographic exhibition and paintings; exhibition and historical stories by Ciccio Gallo and Salvatore Di Giorgio; musical performances by the students of the IC “S. The mayor Federico Basile, for reasons of public order and urban security, has ordered with ordinance N. 120, today, Thursday 5 June 2025, the following: the prohibition of sale, administration or transfer in any capacity of alcoholic beverages with a gradation of more than 5%, as well as dairy drinks or glass containers (even if of personal origin), and the use of pepper spray; The prohibition of detention, at the individual benches or autonagozes, of quantities of LPG above 75 kg, both in use and in storage.
The aforementioned measures apply from 17.00 until the end of the initiatives, in the days from Saturday 7 to Tuesday 10 June 2025, within a radius of 300 meters from the area affected by the events scheduled for Contensses. In addition, the owners of automatic distributors of H24 drinks active in the neighboring areas will have to deactivate the distribution of alcoholic beverages and caning beverages or glass on the days of the event, always starting at 17.00.
Takeaway drinks must be administered exclusively in disposable glasses through flag. The drinks in plastic bottles can only be sold after opening and removing the cap by the operator. For visitors there is free parking inside the square of the fruit and vegetable market of Contensses, with entry and exit from via Marco Polo.
