A fifty-year-old from Messina, at dawn this morning, aboard a Maserati Levante hit three vehicles in the Viale Gazzi area and left the accidented vehicle near Via Consolare Valeria.
According to initial reconstructions by the municipal police, the man, already known to the police, first hit two vehicles parked at the intersection between Via Adolfo Celi and Viale Gazzi and then threw himself into a third vehicle.
When he realized that the car he was traveling in was no longer in a position to continue the “mad race”, he abandoned it. Thanks to a phone call to 112, the police intervened on the spot and reconstructed the events and tracked down the man, subjecting him to alcohol and drug tests. The 50-year-old tested negative for alcohol, but positive for cannabinoids and cocaine. And he was reported for driving under the influence of drugs and without a license.
