A smile, a game, an opportunity for everyone. It is with this spirit that in recent days, at the Youth Aggregation Center in Via Rossini, in the Melicuccà hamlet, the “La Mia Estate” Inclusive Summer Center officially began, promoted by the Vibosalus Social Cooperative as part of the Calabria Region’s public notice for the “La mia Estate” intervention – National Social Policy Fund (FNPS) – Year 2026, financed by the Sector Social Territory of Serra San Bruno.

The initiative is part of a broader intervention promoted by the Calabria Region to promote the social inclusion of children and young people with disabilities, participation in educational, recreational and sporting activities, support for families’ work-life balance and the right to socialization and full participation in community life.

What made the initiative possible was the sensitivity and collaboration of the Municipal Administration of Dinami, which granted use of the Youth Aggregation Center in Via Rossini, in the Melicuccà hamlet. A structure which, as underlined by the Mayor, “it represents a community garrison, a place designed for young people and families, which today opens up to an inclusion project of extraordinary social value”.

The granting of the spaces once again demonstrates the attention of the Municipality of Dinami towards the issues of inclusion and support for families, in line with the objectives of the project and with the spirit of the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities.

The “La Mia Estate” Summer Center aims to guarantee all minors, regardless of their condition, the same opportunities for play, learning and relationships, in a welcoming, safe and professionally qualified context.

The activities planned are numerous and all inclusive:

  • Adapted sports activities: baskin, unified football, sitting volleyball, bowls, table tennis, psychomotor courses, gentle gymnastics
  • Creative and artistic workshops: painting, mosaic, stencils, photography, creative recycling, manipulation, theatre, music
  • Educational outings and visits to the area: educational farms, natural parks, shopping centers and shops for independent activities, participation in events and festivals
  • Personalized educational services: skills enhancement, autonomy education, emotion education, social stories
  • Individualized educational assistance: 1:1 support upon request.

“We are proud to launch this project in the Municipality of Dinami,” declared Lucia Luzza, legal representative of the Vibosalus Social Cooperative. “Our goal is to offer minors with disabilities and their families a time of smiles, discoveries and friendships. We thank the Calabria Region for promoting this important measure, the Social Territorial Area of Serra San Bruno for the constant support and the Municipal Administration of Dinami for the sensitivity and availability demonstrated.”

“The Youth Aggregation Center in Via Rossini comes back to life with a social and inclusive function,” commented the Mayor of Dinami. “This project represents a concrete signal of attention towards the families and children of our territory. The collaboration with the Vibosalus Social Cooperative is a virtuous example of how institutions and the Third Sector can work together for the good of the community.”

The “La Mia Estate” Summer Center will take place until the end of November 2026, with a program that alternates physical activities, creative workshops, outings in the area and moments of socialization.

An initiative that is not just a service, but an investment in the future of Dinami’s minors and families, in the belief that inclusion is an asset for the entire community. A result made possible thanks to the synergy between the Calabria Region, the Social Territorial Area of Serra San Bruno, the Municipality of Dinami and the Vibosalus Social Cooperative.
