A bitter defeat in the derby against Catania for the Primavera, two important and deserved victories for the Under 15 and Under 17 National team against Turris.
The Messina youth sector closes the second weekend of February which could, in one way or another, prove very important for the objectives of the Peloritan teams.
Despite yet another good performance, the Primavera suffered their third defeat in the league in the heartfelt match against Catania on Saturday. The Etna team continued their march to the top thanks to a comeback which only materialized in the last quarter of an hour at the “Gaetano Scirea” in Santa Lucia del Mela. Messina took the lead after 8′ with Galvagna’s mocking left-footed shot. In the second half, Russo and Patalano’s goals made the Rossazzurri smile as they maintained a 3-point lead over Giugliano.
Perfect Sunday at the “L’ambiente Stadium” in Bisconte thanks to the double victory over Turris. Mimmo Moschella’s Under 15 national team found a success that had been missing since November with a 2-1 comeback against the Corallini. Turris takes the lead with Giordano’s tap-in at the end of the first half. The home team’s reaction materializes in the second half thanks to the goals of Loria and Tutino.
The success of Giuseppe Cosimini’s Under 17 national team was easier as they beat the Campania team 3-0 in a match that was never in question. Martorana opens the scoring with an assist from Bonasera, captain Mamaeli and Alioto close the scoring, protagonist in the final of a nice lob assisted by Pecora.
In the next round the Primavera team will not take the field due to the championship break. Away to Picerno scheduled for Saturday for Under 15s and Under 17s.
