This morning, the workers of the establishments of the ‘Hitachi’ of Reggio Calabria and the ‘Baker Hughes’ of Vibo Valentia met in front of Palazzo Campanella, in membership of the national strike relating to the failure to renew the national collective agreement of the sector.
A delegation, led by the trade union representatives of the FIM Giuseppe Grandinetti, Fiom Umberto Calabrò and of the uim Antonio Laurendiwas received by the head of Cabinet of the Presidency of the Regional Council Domenico Macrì and by the councilors Giuseppe Gelardi and Giuseppe Mattiani.
The delegation, in thanking the representatives of the Council for having been received and for the attention paid to the protest, pointed out the growing concern of the many Calabrian workers on the breakdown of the negotiation with Federmeccanica and Assistal for the renewal of the contract and the consequent inconvenience, especially economic, who have lasted for months.
The head of cabinet Domenico Macrì He accepted the delegation by listening to the requests of the trade unions. “This is the home of all the Calabrians -he said among other things during the meeting -. In this battle of yours there are no political colors and the regional council can only be at the side of the workers”.
The councilor Giuseppe Gelardi He underlined “the sensitivity of the regional council to the protests of the sector, in this moment of particular economic difficulty in Italy. We understand the needs of the workers and the many single -income families who struggle to arrive at the end of the month because of the dear life”.
It is appreciable – said the councilor instead Giuseppe Mattiani – The calmness of the tones of the protest. As an entrepreneur I understand your needs. The regional council is not deaf in front of your concerns and expresses its closeness to the few Calabrian industrial realities, hoping that this can be a positive impulse towards those who have to decide the future of workers throughout Italy “.
