Night of fear for five young people from Rometta who were involved in an independent road accident, the dynamics of which have not yet been fully ascertained on Saturday night. Luckily everyone escaped unharmed, except one who was rescued and transported to the emergency room of the “Fogliani” hospital for checks. The group, all in their twenties, who had spent the evening in Milazzo, around 4.30 was returning home in a Mercedes class A, which, suddenly, according to what was reconstructed by the police on the basis of the testimony of the five, caught fire while traveling along the stretch of road that from the San Giovanni junction leads to the other exits. A flame from the engine compartment which surprised everyone to the point of causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The car thus first ended up against a paolo, destroying it, then spinning and coming to rest on a tree along the road near the lay-by in front of the San Giovanni primary school. A very violent impact that woke up all the inhabitants of the area who noticed the vehicle catching fire, with the five young people who managed to abandon the car before it was completely engulfed in flames, providing assistance to their friend. The firefighters, the carabinieri from the local station and the Fmd roadside assistance arrived on site to make the area safe.
