An automatic teller machine of the Bcc Calabria Nord was uprooted and taken away last night, along the Statale 18 Tirrena Inferiore in the municipality of Santa Maria del Cedro. The amount of money contained in the device is currently being ascertained.
The discovery took place this morning, when the owners of the commercial activities located next to the off-site ATM headquarters, a cafeteria and a real estate agency went to the site.
According to what we learned, the thieves would have acted undisturbed, considering that the adjacent buildings are not inhabited in winter, and they may have used a work vehicle to take away the device after uprooting it from the wall.
The Carabinieri of the Scalea company intervened on site and started investigations to trace those responsible. After the surveys carried out directly on site, municipal and private surveillance cameras will be searched in order to extract useful elements for the investigations from the images.

It is the second episode to occur within a few hours in the province of Cosenza: in the night between Monday and Tuesday the post office in Cassano allo Ionio was attacked.
