The Milazzo Carabinieri arrested, in flagrante delicto, a 62-year-old local man, already known to the police, for possession for the purpose of dealing drugs.
The Carabinieri had been monitoring the man’s movements for a few days, with observation services set up which made it possible to collect sufficient investigative elements from which to deduce that drugs could be held inside the 62-year-old’s home. Yesterday morning, therefore, with the support of the dogs of the Carabinieri Cinofili of Nicolosi (CT), a house search was carried out which led to the finding of over 38 grams of marijuana, contained in a cellophane wrapper, hidden among the linen in the bedroom wardrobe. Furthermore, a precision scale and the sum of 9,900 euros believed to be the proceeds of the illicit activity were also found.
The drugs, sent to the Carabinieri of the RIS of Messina for laboratory analysis, together with the precision scale and the sum of money, were seized. The man was arrested and, once the formalities had been completed, on the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, directed by Giuseppe Verzera, he was restricted to the prison of Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, waiting to be judged.
