The anti-drug services of the State Police continue in Milazzo and in the Mamertine area. In recent days, the agents of the Milazzo Public Safety Commissioner, with the support of the canine units of the Reggio Calabria Police Headquarters, carried out a series of targeted checks which led to the seizure of narcotic substances and cash.
During the operation, the police carried out a search in the home of a twenty-one-year-old of foreign origin, already subjected to house arrest with an electronic bracelet for previous drug-related crimes. Inside the bedroom mattress the officers found approximately 25 grams of hashish, divided into four wrappers and carefully hidden.
During the checks, the sum of 350 euros in cash was also seized, considered by investigators to be presumable proceeds from the drug dealing activity.
The research activity was then extended to the premises of the building. Another narcotic substance of the same type was found inside an old armchair located in the condominium stairs. A further five wrappers of hashish, with a total weight of approximately 6 grams, were recovered in a trunk hidden among some household goods in the cellar of the building.
All drugs found were seized. The 21-year-old was reported for possession of a narcotic substance for the purpose of dealing. A proposal was also made against him to aggravate the precautionary measure to which he is currently subjected.
