A weekend of intense checks by the Milazzo Carabinieri led to the reporting of three motorists caught driving in altered psychophysical conditions. Two of them had drunk too much, while a third tested positive for drug intake.
The operation, conducted over the past weekend, is part of a patrol plan aimed at ensuring safety on the roads and preventing dangerous behaviour, in particular those linked to driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.
The military carried out numerous checkpoints in the main arteries of the area, verifying compliance with the rules of the highway code. In addition to complaints for impaired driving, other violations have been found that put the safety of motorists and pedestrians at risk.
Furthermore, during the checks, three young people were reported to the Prefecture as drug users, having been found in possession of small quantities of drugs intended for personal use. The seized substances will be analyzed by the RIS of the Carabinieri of Messina.
