Model and actress Silvina Luna dies after plastic surgery

The Argentine actress and model died at the age of 43 due to serious complications following a cosmetic operation Silvina Luna, who had been hospitalized for more than two months at the Italian Hospital in Buenos Aires. The news, confirmed by her lawyer, Fernando Burlando, gained ample space in the online press and on television channels, fueling the controversy surrounding some plastic surgery operations.

The former participant of “Big Brother”, in the past girlfriend of the former Argentine naturalized Italian footballer Daniel Osvaldo, suffered from kidney failure following a proceeding carried out in 2011 by the doctor Aníbal Lotocki, who in the meantime was banned from practicing the profession. The doctor, known as ‘the famous surgeon, injected her with methacrylate, a substance not authorized by the Argentine Medicines Agency (Anmat). Luna was on the waiting list for a kidney transplant, but she was not yet eligible to receive it due to her delicate health condition. The Argentine Actors’ Association released a note in which it expressed “deep sadness” over the incident, underlining the 25-year career of the actress, model and presenter.
