The mayor Vincenzo Voce and the president of the province of Crotone Sergio Ferrari they sent a letter to the President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni and to the Minister of the Environment Gilberto Pichetto Fratin with which, manifesting opposition to the recent ordinance issued by the extraordinary commissioner for the reclamation of Sin Crotone – Cassano – Cerchiara gen. Emilio Errigoask for the revocation.
The text of the letter:
“We turn to the SS.Vv. as the first citizen and president of the Province of Crotone concerned about the serious problems related to the management of environmental reclamation by the extraordinary commissioner delegated government, to coordinate, accelerate and promote the realization of the reclamation and repair of environmental damage on the contaminated site of national interest of Crotone, general Emilio Errigo. We considered the role of the extraordinary commissioner for the fundamental commissioners Importance in ensuring that the reclamation operations were carried out effectively and above all in compliance with the provisions of the ministerial decree of 2020 which provided that hazardous waste was transferred outside the region. they consider that This provision does not reflect what emerged in institutional discussions, where numerous observations and proposals had been raised aimed at effectively protecting the health, safety and interests of our territory. Failure to listen to these voices, which represent local realities and their needs, has aroused bewilderment and disappointmentAnd. We are democratic expression of the people and the state must listen to democratically elected representatives. We do not need a commissioner who does not listen to the will of the communities. The commissioner, who represents the state, has assumed an attitude that contrasts with the will of citizenship, with the expectations of the territory and above all with what is discussed widely at the technical table that the Ministry of the Environment itself has introduced. A table established precisely to listen to the local institutions which, in the light of the provision adopted by the commissioner, sees the function of involvement of local realities wanted by the same ministry vanified. In light of what has been exposed, we considered to stop any institutional relationship with the current commissioner. We ask you to take into consideration the seriousness of the situation and to provide urgently, in spite of us, to the revocation of the current commissioner for the reclamation of the Sin Crotone – Cassano – Cerchiara prof. Gen. B (Ris) Emilio Errigo and the appointment of a new commissioner who can guarantee effective management of remediation, in line with the expectations of the population and with the commitments made.
