Naspi payment in September 2025, when it arrives: here are the dates.

NASpI unemployment benefit payments are expected on October 15th for those who already receive the subsidy.

The disbursement dates are variable and, like every month, depend on the moment in which the interested party submitted the application.

NASpI increases 2025

Some changes came into force from 1 January 2025:

  • The amounts will increase by 0.8%.
  • The monthly maximum, which in 2024 was 1,550.42 euros, will rise to around 1,562.82 euros.

With the entry into force of the new 2025 Budget Law, from 1 January there will be significant changes to the requirements for access to the NASpI (New Social Insurance for Employment), especially for specific cases linked to voluntary resignations and accrued contributions.

What is NASpI?

The NASpI is a monthly allowance paid by INPS to employed workers who involuntarily lose their job. The beneficiaries include:

  • Apprentices
  • Temporary workers in the public sector
  • Employees who have been dismissed or whose contract has been terminated

Situations that Allow Access to NASpI

Workers can access the NASpI in case of:

  • Dismissal, even for just cause
  • Natural expiry of the contract
  • Resignation for just cause (for example due to lack of pay or mobbing)
  • Voluntary resignation during the protected period of maternity/paternity

New for 2025: Voluntary Resignation Requirements

From 1 January 2025, workers who voluntarily resign or mutually terminate a permanent contract and find new employment must satisfy an additional requirement to access the NASpI in the event of a subsequent involuntary job loss.

The New Contribution Requirement

In case of dismissal after a new job, it will be necessary:

  • Have accrued at least 13 weeks of contributions (even if not continuous) with the new employer.

Practical Example

A worker who voluntarily resigns on 15 February 2025 and is hired on 10 March 2025, but is fired on 10 April 2025, will not be able to access the NASpI, having not accumulated the required 13 weeks of contributions.

However, if the dismissal occurs on 10 July 2025, having fulfilled the contribution requirement, you will be able to benefit from the allowance.

Unjustified Absences: A New Rule

From 2025, a prolonged unjustified absence exceeding:

  • 5 days (for some CCNL)
  • 15 days (for other CCNL)
will be considered as voluntary resignation, unless proven otherwise. This excludes the worker from accessing the NASpI.

How to Request NASpI

General Requirements

To access the NASpI, the worker must:

  • Being unemployed
  • Have accrued at least 13 weeks of contributions in the 4 years before losing your job

Calculation and Duration of NASpI

The allowance is equal to 75% of the average salary of the last 4 years, with a maximum established by law and:

  • A 3% monthly reduction starting from the 6th month (from the 8th month for those aged at least 55 years)
  • A maximum duration of 24 months, calculated on half the weeks worked in the last 4 years

Submission of the Application

The application must be submitted to INPS within 68 days of termination of the employment relationship.

Delivery Times

  • If the application is submitted within 8 days of termination, the NASpI starts from the 8th following day
  • Otherwise, it starts from the day of submission of the application
