The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Cosenza, Klaus Algieri, has been elected vice president of Unioncamere Nazionale for the second timethe Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce. After having held the position of vice president with responsibility for labor for three years, Klaus Algieri, the first president of a Calabrian Chamber of Commerce elected to be part of the National Presidency Office, was then reconfirmed – also for the first time – by the Assembly that met to elect the president and the new members of the body headed by Andrea Prete.
Founded in 1901, Unioncamere is the public body that unites and institutionally represents the Italian chamber system. Thanks to its central role, it creates and manages services and activities of interest to the Chambers of Commerce and economic categories, coordinating the initiatives of the System through directives and addresses to the bodies that are part of it.
Unioncamere plays a crucial role in the exercise of the functions and tasks entrusted by law to the Chambers of Commerce. It stipulates program agreements, understandings and conventions with the central government administrations, national or local public bodies, promoting and supporting the connection of the Chamber System with business, consumer and workers’ organizations.
At European level, Unioncamere ensures the representation of the Italian Chambers of Commerce within Eurochambres, the association that brings together the chamber systems of Europe, thus consolidating the role of the Italian Chambers of Commerce in the European context.
Congratulations to Algiers from the President of the Province, Rosaria Succurro, from Coldiretti and from the Chamber of Commerce of Catanzaro, Crotone and Vibo.
