The stars of cinema are ready to light up Taormina. From 19 to 21 July the Pearl of the Ionian Sea will host the 18th edition of the Nations Awardthe Cinematographic Award of the Nations promoted by the president Michel Curatolo, for 25 years a leader in the organization of major events, already at the top of the Taormina Film Fest. Also this year on the red carpet artists of absolute prestige in line with the past editions that have seen the participation of many faces of international cinema such as Woody Allen, Gerard Depardieu, Claudia Cardinale, Gina Lollobrigida, F.Murray Abraham, Jean Sorel, Ezio Greggio, Ferzan Ozpetek and the sports champion Ronaldinho.
The event will bring for the first time to Sicily Kevin Spacey, strongly desired by the organizer Michel Curatolo with the expert artistic consultancy by Marco Fallanca. The famous actor, awarded last year at the National Cinema Museum in Turin, will perform on Sunday 21 July in a short performance in the evocative setting of the Teatro Antico. On this occasion, the two-time Oscar winner for The Usual Suspects And American Beauty, will be presented with the Nations Award for Lifetime Achievement for his exceptional dedication to the craft of acting on stage, screen and television.

He will also receive the Nations Award Giancarlo Gianninione of the most illustrious exponents of Italian cinema who brought our culture to Hollywood, receiving a star on the famous Walk of Fame in 2023. The Nations Award cannot miss the singer-songwriter music. In fact, a special prize will be awarded to Paul Countan authentic exponent of musical culture and art in all its forms.
The actors are also highly anticipated Gaetano Aronicadirector of the Pirandello Theatre in Agrigento, and Margareth Madeauthoritative representatives of “Sicilianness”. Both were protagonists in the famous Baaria by Giuseppe Tornatore. With them, the model and actress will go on stage at the Greek theater Madalina Ghenea, fresh winner of the Osf Award, for her commitment to environmental protection and the promotion of public health, themes that distinguish the Nations Award-Thinkingreen. Ghenea, protagonist at the Sanremo Festival in 2016, has worked with directors of the caliber of Paolo Sorrentino, Ben Stiller and Ridley Scott who chose her to play Sofia Loren in House of Gucci.
The godmother of the event will be Naomi Brandovery good at playing Tina in the Netflix series You are in the soul dedicated to the singer-songwriter Gianna Nannini. Noemi Brando, also the protagonist in the successful series Supersex inspired by the life of Rocco Siffredi, will receive the Thinkingreen Award Next Generation, as best new actress.
The highlight of the event will be the gala evening at the Greek theatre scheduled for Sunday 21 July at 9.30 pm.
