An operation by the Carabinieri of the Territorial Department of Corigliano-Rossano was launched this morning at dawn by the military who executed a precautionary custody order, issued by the GIP of the Court of Catanzaro at the request of the local District Anti-Mafia Directorate, against the members of a criminal family group active in the Ionian territory. In total, 5 measures were carried out: four precautionary custody in prison and an obligation to report to the judicial police. The suspects, all part of the same family unit in the Apollinare district in the urban area of Corigliano, are considered to be seriously suspected of numerous episodes of extortion, both committed and attempted, aggravated by the mafia method against several agricultural and commercial entrepreneurs in the area.
The names
Among the recipients of the measures are: Giovanni Arturi, known as “A vozza” (already detained in prison for another reason), Pasquale Arturi (45 years old), Giovanni’s brother, Bruno Arturi (24 years old), Giovanni’s son, Giovanni Arturi’s partner, who ended up in prison. Another young woman was, however, subjected to the obligation to sign.
