The Court of Assizes of Catanzaro has Sentenced to the sentence of life imprisonment Nazzareno Colace, 61, from Portosalvo (hamlet of the Municipality of Vibo Valentia) held responsible for the murder of Francesco Covato, disappeared between 23 and 24 January 1990, and whose body has never been found.
A case of “white lupara” resolved by the DDA of Catanzaro thanks to the declarations of several collaborators of justice: Carlo Vavalà, Michele Iannello, Gerardo d’Urzo, Rosario Cappello, Raffaele Moscato, Andrea Mantella, Bartolomeo Arena, Antonio Guastalegname.
In competition with other subjects to the unidentified state, Nazzareno Colace was accused of having been the promoter, the creator and executor of the crime, exploding a gunshots of the address of Francesco Covato to take revenge on an attack on his damage that took place on September 19, 1987.
The murder of Francesco Covato would have taken place at the height of an armed clash between the family covated on the one hand and the Tripod clan of Portosalvo the same Nazzareno Colace on the other.
