Nephrology, doctors are missing: care at risk in the Vibo area

The situation in Nephrology in the Vibonese area is alarming, where the severe shortage of doctors is putting the service at risk, especially in peripheral hospitals. At Jazzolino you can only count on 6 doctors (one of which is on maternity leave) while in Tropea it is close to 0, with a specialist who will go on maternity leave and another who will retire in January. The Nicotera center is supported only by a nephrologist, while the Serra San Bruno dialysis center has no doctor (it runs with a token specialist). The already critical scenario, with double shifts and availability having to be guaranteed, is expected to collapse in December, when staff will hardly be able to enjoy a few days off during the Christmas period.
