The Palestinian media report that Israeli armored military vehicles are advanced to the south-east of Deir El-Balah, in the Central Gaza Strip, under the protection of a heavy coverage fire: it brings it back to Jazeera. The artillery fire of the Israeli army (IDF) is targeting the areas of Abu Holi, Abu al-Ajin and Al-Jafarawi to the east of Deir El-Balah. Strong explosions were also heard in the Al-Qarara area of Khan Youunis, south of the Strip.
The Israeli army has announced that it has launched vast scale attacks and mobilizing the troops to take control of areas in the Gaza Strip, as part of the preparation for the ‘Gedeone tanks’ operation and the expansion of the countryside in the strip.
According to a spokesman for the IDF, the operation aims to achieve all the objectives of the war in Gaza, including the release of the hostages and the defeat of Hamas.
According to a source of security, the bombings launched by the IDF in Gaza are “a last step before the actual operation of Gedeone and a warning for Hamas: a last opportunity to achieve an agreement before a dramatic expansion of the fighting”. Channel 12 reports it.
According to the same source, the attack, aims to “intervene on the area before the troop entrance” and will continue in the next few hours. The Carri di Gedeone operation, whose goal is to defeat Hamas in Gaza and free the hostages, was approved by the Israeli political-d security cabinet at the beginning of May, in accordance with the plans formulated by the Chief of Staff.
International appeals are worthless to stop bombs and resume humanitarian aid. Israel continues to hammer Gaza with the raids that only in the last 24 have caused 90 deaths in the strip, as part of an escalation of the Jewish offensive that has accumulated hundreds of killed in the last few days, up to the tragic balance of over 53 thousand victims since the beginning of the war, according to the Hamas count.
While the alarm is growing for the humanitarian crisis in the enclave where for over two months Israel has imposed a block of humanitarian aid that forces the Palestinian population to hunger. So much so that even the iron ally of the Jewish state, Donald Trump, wanted to intervene: “Many people are dying of hunger”, he recognized the tycoon by Abu Dhabi, the last stage of his tour in the Gulf who did not see a stop by his friend Israel.
“We are keeping an eye on Gaza. And we will deal with this,” he underlined. For weeks, humanitarian agencies have felt a critical deficiency of everything, from food to clean water, from fuel to medicines. So much to push the high commissioner of the United Nations for human rights, Volker Turk, to speak of “a push towards a permanent demographic change in Gaza, which violates international law and is equivalent to ethnic cleaning”.
Israel justified the decision to stop aid in Gaza with the aim forcing Hamas to make concessions, while dozens of Israeli hostages remain in the hands of the militiamen in the strip.
On Monday, the Palestinian group freed Edan Alexander, the last kidnapped living with US citizenship, after a direct dialogue with Washington. Now, the militiamen ask Trump to respect his part of an agreement: the high official of Hamas Taher al-Nunu declared to the FP that the group “expects the US administration to exercise further pressures” on Israel “to open the passes and allow the immediate entry of humanitarian aid”.
Meanwhile, the count of the dead for the Israeli offensive grows in the strip, which according to the Ministry of Health of Hamas caused 2,985 killed only by the breakdown of the truce that took place in mid -March, bringing the total budget of the war to 53,119 deaths in the Palestinian territory. According to the Israeli media, the army actually intensified its offensive in line with a plan approved by the government of Netanyahu at the beginning of this month, although there was no formal announcement of an expansion of the campaign.
At the same time, the Israeli aeronautics implemented the retaliation against the Houthi, after Thursday the Yemenites rebels triggered the anti -aircraft alarm in the center of the Jewish state for an attack with a missile, intercepted by the IDF. Less than 24 hours later, Israelis raids hit the Yemenites of the cities of Hodeida and Salif, of which on Wednesday the Israeli army had asked for evacuation by accusing the rebels of using them for “terrorist activities”.
And it’s not over, “there is still much to do”, has threatened Netanyahu: “We are not willing to stay on the sidelines and let the Houthi attack us. We will hit them much more, including their leaders and all the infrastructures that allow them to hit us”.
‘Trump wants to transfer 1 million Palestinians to Libya’
The Trump administration is working on a plan to permanently transfer up to 1 million Palestinians from the Gaza to Libya strip. Five people informed have revealed it to NBC News. The plan is in such an advanced evaluation phase that the administration has already discussed it with Libyan leadership, adds NBC.
