There are many Italians preparing to greet 2025 with music in the squares, starting from two classic events broadcast live on television. In Reggio Calabriathe seafront will be transformed into a large stage for “The Year to Come”, the Rai 1 show hosted by Marco Liorni, starring Anna Oxa, Ermal Meta, the Ricchi e Poveri and many other well-known faces. At the same time, in Catania, Piazza Duomo will host “New Year’s Eve in Music”, the Canale 5 event hosted by Federica Panicucci with Fabio Rovazzi, which will see performances among others by Paola and Chiara, Orietta Berti, Baby K as well as the talents of the “Amici” school. A surprise from Gigi D’Alessio is also expected. A cascade of concerts and events in the square is also scheduled, but not in Milan. For the fifth consecutive year, in fact, the Lombard capital will not organize any concert in Piazza Duomo. Mayor Giuseppe Sala reiterated that the estimated cost, around one million euros, would be better spent on other priorities for the city.
In Sicily a series of events between cities and towns
In PalermoPiazza Castelnuovo will welcome Biagio Antonacci, preceded by the Sicilian multi-instrumentalist Mario Incudine and followed by Paoletta’s DJ set. Look will offer the live performance of Matia Bazar in Piazza La Mantia, while in Messina Arisa and Clementino will dominate the scene in Piazza Duomo. Capo d’Orlando will give space to Anna Tatangelo in Piazza Matteotti. Fiorella Mannoia will be the protagonist of Damn, Syracuse will welcome AKA 7EVEN, while Francesco Gabbani will be the star ad Augusta.
For other reasons, too the New Year’s Eve in Rome at the Circus Maximus was marked by controversy: initially, Tony Effe, Mahmood and Mara Sattei were announced as protagonists. But after the invitation to Tony Effe was withdrawn due to the lyrics of his songs, deemed inappropriate, Mahmood and Mara Sattei also stepped aside in solidarity. In the end, the Circus Maximus stage will be animated by Gabry Ponte, the Premiata Forneria Marconi (PFM), the Orchestraccia and the Orchestra Popolare La Notte della Taranta. At the Circus Maximus there will also be the Culture Club led by Boy George. Tony Effe, for his part, did not hold back and announced a concert at the Palasport in Rome, with tickets at controlled prices and the promise of surprises for the fans.
In Naples we will celebrate in the evocative setting of Piazza del Plebiscito with a tribute to Pino Daniele. Among the artists who will take the stage, Loredana Bertè, James Senese, Sal Da Vinci, Gigi and Ross and Raiz, while Lungomare Caracciolo will host thematic stages with electronic, funk and pop music.
In FlorenceNew Year’s Eve will liven up Piazza San Giovanni, Piazza della Signoria, Piazza della Santissima Annunziata and Piazza Santa Croce, with performances by Mr. Rain, Lorenzo Baglioni and Giovanni Caccamo, accompanied by videomapping on Palazzo Vecchio. Genoain Piazza De Ferrari, will host La Representative di Lista, Alessandra Amoroso and Ex-Otago, with a DJ set until late at night. Natalie Imbruglia will be on stage in Piazza Pertini ad Anconawhile Colapesce and Dimartino in Piazza Garibaldi a Parmaand Alfa in Prato della Valle a Padua. Turin will see Piazza Castello light up with Morcheeba, Rose Villain and Malika Ayane (entry is free but booking requires a fee), while in Bariin Piazza Libertà, Emma Marrone and Michele Bravi will entertain the public. TO Foggia Francesca Michielin is waiting in Piazza Cavour, while Trani will welcome 2025 with Tony Hadley. TO Salerno Giorgia will sing in Piazza della Libertà; Achille Lauro will entertain Cosenza in Piazza dei Bruzi. In Sardinia, the Negramaros will be protagonists Algherowhile Gaia will perform at the foot of the Tower of San Cristoforo a Oristano and Giusy Ferreri in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele a Nuoro. Jesolofinally, it will welcome Mr. Rain in Piazza Kennedy.
