The first, extraordinary World Cup victory for Nicol Delago arrived at the age of 30. The Italian achieved the feat in the downhill race in Tarvisio, a location that has returned to the world championship circuit after 15 years, called to replace the traditional stage in Cortina d’Ampezzo, where work is underway on the Olympia delle Tofane slope in view of the Olympic Games next month.
The feat on Di Pramperò
On the Di Pramperò slope, the South Tyrolean skier from Selva Gardena set the best time in 1’46″28, thus achieving the first success of her career on the top circuit. Behind her was the German Kira Weidle-Winkelmann, 26 hundredths behind, while in third place was the timeless Lindsey Vonn, 41 years old, also at 26 hundredths.
The other blue ones
For Vonn it is the fifth podium in as many seasons played in the World Cup. Good placing also for Laura Pirovano, sixth at 85 hundredths from the winner. Tenth place for Nadia Delago at 1″15, while Sofia Goggia finished eleventh at 1″3.
