In the match that was supposed to establish Messina’s reaction after Avellino another defeat arrives, the first home defeat for the Giallorossi, who remain third to last in the standings in the play-out zone. The pace of the first half was slow, with few opportunities but the Giallorossi managed to take the lead in the 20th minute when Petrungaro deflected a cross from Lia into the net with his shoulder. Locals in control, but in the 39th minute the first defensive error favors the guests: Marino makes a mistake, Fella recovers and serves Diop who, from the edge, beats Krapikas with Marino’s unfortunate deflection. In the second half we expect another Messina, who also switches to 4-3-3 but it is Cavese who strikes. In the 16th minute, a long throw from goalkeeper Boffelli which becomes an assist for Fella who, all alone in front of Krapikas, makes no mistake and completes the comeback in Campania. Three minutes later the new substitute Vigliotti, following a pass from Peretti, slipped between the Giallorossi defenders and scored the hat-trick that sealed the away victory. Messina is no longer there and, in the 31st minute, Marino also gets the second yellow card, leaving the team with ten men and the match ends here.
