He had transformed a young woman’s life into a nightmare made up of messages, threats and stakeouts under her house. A 56-year-old man from Corigliano Rossano was arrested by the police on charges of stalking a local girl.
The intervention came after days of growing tension. The victim, tired of living in fear, had turned to the police for help. The reports had already allowed the military to document obsessive behavior and continuous stalking, until the man was surprised under the young woman’s house.
According to what has been reconstructed, the two had met in the workplace, when the girl had been hired in the man’s company. A professional relationship that, for him, would soon turn into an obsession. After the end of the contract, the man began to bombard her with messages, then moving on to daily threats and stalking, in an attempt to convince her to comply with his demands.
In recent days, the situation had degenerated: increasingly frequent stakeouts and prolonged stops outside the house had forced the young woman to ask the police for intervention. The soldiers of the Corigliano Rossano Radiomobile Section, with the support of the Corigliano Scalo station, stopped him in the act and took him to the barracks.
After the formalities, the 56-year-old was transferred to the Castrovillari prison, at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
