Roberto Occhiuto, president of the Calabria Region and deputy secretary of Forza Italia, took stock of alliances, electoral law and the future of the party in an interview with la Repubblica.

Among the most significant passages is the answer to the question on Vannacci and the possible involvement of the MEP in the centre-right coalition in the next 2027 elections: “Meloni will decide with Salvini and Tajani. My opinion is that with Vannacci there would be a genetic mutation, his ideas have not found citizenship even in the League, which is not the most moderate party among us. Of course, he has a space, that of the populists, but it would be much larger if he were in the coalition. It would not be an electoral campaign simple, every day the topic would be what Vannacci said and we should instead take advantage of the fact that the center-left is led by a young leader who has shown that she can unite the Democratic Party, but is not seen as moderate.”
