A milky way in which works shine that draw in the past to give shape to a new dimension that turns to the future. Thus, the exhibition spaces set up in the branch of the Montepaone Bank of Catanzaro, on Saturday 12 April, were embellished with the section of the pencil of Omar Galliani, the International Master of the drawing.
The inauguration of the exhibition The temporal ellipse of the drawing processes the winning idea of the president of the Banca Montepaone Foundation, Giovanni Caridi, who said “We are trying to democratize art, passing the doors of the museums. We bring works of art within our credit institution, where we usually work and lend financial services, approaching citizenship and contributing to the development of the territory”.
Equally enthusiastic the city councilor for culture, Donatella Monteverdi, who reiterated “the collaboration between public and private is essential to grow a territory. It is an important exchange to disseminate the beauty that often distracted, we do not see or take for granted”.

To illustrate the 16 works, graphite on table, who explore various universes, from nature to beauty, from life to art, was the curator of the exhibition, the art critic Teodolinda Cantatellaro. “Time is the trace of Galliani’s pencil, it is a drawing that has its roots in history but it is the son of contemporaneity, it continues rebirth in the alchemy of form” he explained, focusing in particular on the 5 works born and living Calabria, precisely inspired by some finds kept within the Archaeological and Numismatic Museum (March) of Catanzaro.

Omar Galliani’s designs are imbued with emotions and memory fragments that translates on the table, perpetuating the deep bond between matter and spirit. The element that distinguishes them is graphite which, as the artist kept us underlining, is a mineral made up of carbon released by the stars when they collapse. “My works, in fact, shine in the reflex of graphite. They are born from a physical need, they represent a form of control that allows me to resist the long time of the drawing” confided Galliani, happy with this artistic journey that will continue bringing the works that tell Catanzaro, with other exhibitions, around the world.

“Once at the fourth exhibition, we are proud to see the value of this exhibition space from the community recognized. We hope that the echo of artistic beauty attracts more and more people. In fact, we are planning guided tours both within the branch and at the March” concluded Caridi, remembering that the show the temporal ellipse of the drawing – the result of the collaboration between culture and business – will be open to the public up to 30 June, at the time of office, Montepaone di Catanzaro, in Piazza Matteotti.
