Three people reported for illicit transport of waste by the Sellia Marina police and the Sersale Forestry Unit.
The control was triggered along the SS 106, when a decidedly anomalous load aroused the suspicion of the military, who were engaged in an ad hoc safety device. Subsequent investigations made it possible to discover that over 700 kg of highly polluting ferrous material had been crammed on board the body: mechanical components of vehicles that had not been reclaimed and were dripping with toxic liquids, classified as special dangerous waste. At the time of the inspection, the owner of a company and two of his workers were caught in the act, completely without both registration in the National Register and the necessary FIR (waste identification forms).
The military immediately seized the vehicle and the load, preventing the waste from being dumped in the heart of the territory, causing serious damage to nature.
