Action. Ciminna in the Palermo area is transformed into an open-air set. From Monday 20 May it will be the location of some scenes of the film directed by director Aurelio Grimaldi, entitled “Il misdirection”, about the massacre in Via D'Amelio in which judge Paolo Borsellino and five escort agents Agostino Catalano, Emanuela lost their lives Loi, Vincenzo Li Muli, Walter Eddie Cosina and Claudio Traina, produced by Movie 4.0 and Arancia cinema. This was announced by the Municipality of Ciminna.
A cinematic work thus returns to those places, sixty-two years after Luchino Visconti's masterpiece «The Leopard», the first filming began on May 14, 1962. In those days, laborers and numerous extras from the small hill town were involved. «And this time too some local citizens will be involved. The world of cinema is increasingly a driving force for the promotion and valorisation of the Ciminno area”, states mayor Vito Filippo Barone.
The municipal administration is preparing a series of major events for next summer, specifically in the cinematographic sector, with the fifth edition of the national award “Il Gattopardo”, which last year saw the Sicilian actress Donatella Finocchiaro awarded. Grimaldi, these days, is finishing shooting other scenes in Palermo and Termini Imerese. The cast includes Tuccio Musumeci, Nino Frassica, Tony Sperandeo, David Coco, Maurizio Marchetti, Lucia Sardo (two nominations for the Nastri d'Argento) and Francesca Ferro, daughter of an artist, (father Turi was a great Sicilian actor).
