Hunting dog saved by the Crotone firefighters. This morning a call arrived at the operations room of the Crotone fire brigade with a report of an animal (of a prized breed, Gascon Saintongeois) which had fallen down a cliff of approximately fifty meters in the inaccessible area of Furci (municipality of Pallagorio). Upon the arrival of the Cirò Marina detachment team, the situation was complicated given the height of the cliff, among trees and shrubs, which descended to a river where the hunting dog had ended up. Using a speleo-alpine-river technique, the fire brigade lowered itself to the watercourse and recovered the hunting dog. The team’s intervention ended around 3pm.
