The voice, uncomfortable and privateer and prophetic, of Pasolini, who before the others saw and denounced the contradictions of our present. The genius, the multifaceted commitment, through word and image, poetry and cinema, reports and articles in the press, and also his very special relationship with Calabria: fifty years after his tragic death, still shrouded in shadows, Lamezia Terme wants to remember him with a rich series of initiatives and meetings, illuminating all the many aspects of his personality and his artistic parable. «Pasolini and…» is promoted by the University of Calabria and the Lametino Library System, with the scientific direction of Carlo Fanelli, professor of the Department of Humanistic Studies at Unical, who chairs a scientific committee made up of Raffaele Perrelli, Marco Gatto, Paolo Desogus, Stefano Casi and Roberto Calabretto, and makes use of the collaboration of an organizational committee.
The program – which will be presented at a press conference tomorrow at 6.30pm at the Cloister of San Domenico, followed by the screening of the film «Accattone» (1961) – will be divided into a succession of conferences, discussions, readings, exhibitions, shows and screenings. Among the guests of the event were Dacia Maraini, Paolo Desogus, Marco Gatto, Francesca Tuscano, Stefano Casi, Roberto Chiesi, Stefano De Matteis, Massimo Fusillo and Silvia De Laude.
The patronage is from the Department of Humanistic Studies of Unical, the Pier Paolo Pasolini Study Center, the Calabria Film Commission, the Cineteca di Bologna, the Experimental Center for Cinematography.
