In light of the statement released by the Democratic Party club of Cosenza city which effectively sanctions the exit from the municipal majority and announces the desire to decide from time to time on individual measures, the seven city councilors of Cosenza – Giuseppe Mazzuca (president of the city council), Assunta Mascaro, Concetta De Paola, Francesco Graziadio, Aldo Trecroci, Gianfranco Tinto and Giuseppe Ciacco – together with the councilors Maria Locanto and Damiano Covelli, take note of “a serious and politically irresponsible decision, which openly disavows the decisions taken during the meeting held on Sunday of all the institutional representatives present at Palazzo dei Bruzi.
Criticism of the method and merit of the choice
A choice made without any real comparison, in terms of merit and method, and which unilaterally breaks a shared political path, unloading the consequences of a confused and contradictory line on the institutions, on the city and its community.
The formal farewell to the city club
For these reasons Giuseppe Mazzuca, Assunta Mascaro, Concetta De Paola, Francesco Graziadio, Aldo Trecroci, Gianfranco Tinto and Giuseppe Ciacco, the councilors Maria Locanto and Damiano Covelli, formalize their exit from the Cosenza PD circle, already announced in recent days.
The motivations of the institutional representatives
This is certainly a painful but inevitable decision, taken out of respect for the institutions, the voters and a clear and crystalline political mandate, which cannot be bent to current logic or choices made from above”.
Dissent towards the PD’s political strategy
Giuseppe Mazzuca, Assunta Mascaro, Concetta De Paola, Francesco Graziadio, Aldo Trecroci, Gianfranco Tinto, Giuseppe Ciacco, Maria Locanto and Damiano Covelli, express, finally, “the firmest and most indignant dissent towards a decision that weakens the Democratic Party which, in an attempt to undermine the credibility of the administrative action carried out, further distances the party from the real needs of the city”.
