The senators of the Democratic Party Nicola Into and Antonio Misiani presented a parliamentary question to have clarity, by the Minister of Infrastructureon one affair that contrasts the mayor of Gioia Tauro, Simona Scarcella, to the port Authority. The parliamentary act is contested by a recent resolution with which the City Council of Gioia Tauro asked for the removal of the president of the Port Authority, the Admiral Andrea Agostinelli, the commissioner of the public body and the cancellation of the disciplinary measure started by the same authority against the current mayor, when he worked as an employee. According to the questions, “this resolution appears to be pushed by an old personal and political conflict, which saw the mayor of Gioia Tauro to submit complaints, then archived by the Court of Palmi, while the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Anac considered the work of the port Authority legitimate with respect to the issues complained by the interested party.
“It is very serious and unacceptable to expose the stability of the port authority for purposes unrelated to the general interest at risk – says Irto, secretary of the Calabria PD – we are faced with the attempt to use the institutions as a pressure tool, just as the expiry of the mandate of President Agostinelli is approaching, which has worked effectively, strengthened the port port and contrasted the risks of mafia infiltration”. Among other things, we read in the question, a municipal councilor of Gioia Tauro, in his own document, has also proposed the radiation from the register to the journalist Luigi Longo, just for giving news of the story. “We denounce and reject this shameful attack on freedom of information, which – concludes Irto – reveals a very dangerous political arrogance for the estate of democracy”.
