A non -EU citizen attacked two policemen in service at the Commissioner of Gioia Tauro in the late evening during a control of the territory. This was announced by the Siulp provincial secretariat. At the request of an identification document, the non -EU citizen, without declining his personal details, attacked the two policemen of the “steering wheel”, who managed to immobilize him and lead him to the offices of the police station. One of the policemen, hit in the chest, suffered bruises curable in thirty days, while the colleague, only slightly injured, reported lesions healed in seven days.
“By now we can speak of a phenomenon of serial violence – says the Siulp of Reggio Calabria in a note – recording an attack every three hours against those who deal with defending the safety of citizens. Not only that, but in this sad and impressive statistical statistics are not counted all those operated against those who carry out a public need or public utility service such as doctors, health workers, professors, taxi drivers and drivers of public transport or those who are insidered “.
Finally, Siulp asked for a decisive legislative intervention “that takes into account this phenomenon and try to contain it while combining the needs of order and security with the constitutional guarantees in defense of freedom and democracy”.
