There Junta from the Calabria regionin today’s session, on the proposal of the Councilor for Agriculture, Gianluca Galloapproved the Regional plan for the fight against forest fires 2025.
With the same act, the engineer coordinator of the plan the engineer Raffaele Mangiardi have been confirmed.
The new plan represents a further step forward towards an increasingly integrated and proactive virtuous model -considered by the president of the region Roberto Occhiuto fundamental for a real protection of the environment -, in which prevention, monitoring and timely intervention merge into a multilivelo strategy, capable of significantly reducing the bush surface crossed by the fire.
Particular importance is attributed to the management of fuel, recognized as a fundamental lever to contain the fire risk. The plan provides for targeted programming of interventions in the areas with greater vulnerability-such as underboschi, escarpments and areas of urban-roll interface-supported by historical data and environmental indicators.
In this context, the role of the municipalities and entities of the linear infrastructure managers (such as roads, railways and electrode) is central to a team game: the synergy between institutional levels and territorial subjects will be decisive to make preventive actions more effective.
Among the innovations of the 2025 plan: the enhancement of the digital digital digital platform, for an integrated and dynamic reading of territorial data; An advanced monitoring system with automatic take -off drones, weather sensors and artificial intelligence; The activation of an analysis nucleus for real -time interpretation of the risk conditions and the generation of the daily danger bulletin.
Thanks to this approach, in recent years there has been a progressive reduction of the bush surfaces affected by the fire. Also on the deterrence front, the results are growing, with almost 400 incendiary reported only in 2024.
The AIB Calabria 2025 plan strengthens a model that combines innovation, presence on the territory and operational alliances: a strategy that looks to the future with concreteness and vision.
