Pope Leo has decided on a series of appointments regarding the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, Major Penitentiary, and Cardinal Roberto Repole, metropolitan archbishop of Turin and bishop of Susa, join the body. Also designated as members were Cardinal Angel Fernandez Artime, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, and Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki, Archbishop of Cologne.
Completing the group of new members are the prelates: Fortunato Morrone, metropolitan archbishop of Reggio Calabria-Bova; Alfonso Vincenzo Amarante, rector magnificent of the Pontifical Lateran University; and Slawomir Oder, bishop of Gliwice, Poland and historic postulator for the canonization of Pope Wojtyla Leo
