A new piece is added to those prepared so far by the Administration led by the mayor Nicola Fiorita and aimed at optimizing the sea resource. In fact, the notice for the concession of two state-owned maritime areas for the storage of boats and pleasure craft and the related hauling and launching activity within the port area has been published in the municipal notice board. The councilors responsible for the subject – Sea Policies and Heritage – give notice of this. Giusy Iemma and Antonio Battaglia.
“The publication of the notice – explain the two members of the Fiorita council – follows the resolution approved by the executive a few months ago with which the guideline was provided for verifying the feasibility of activating a public procedure , aimed at granting concessions for the areas. Verification which, once carried out by the competent offices, led to today’s publication of the notice it will allow, in fact, the assignment of the areas themselves for storage, excluding maintenance, of boats and pleasure craft and related hauling and launching activities within the port. Both lots have a surface area of over two thousand square meters and were created from the existing paved and directly accessible square. Our primary objective – add Iemma and Battaglia – was and remains the completion of the port. A goal we are working towards tirelessly. But we do not intend to give up at all the possibility of exploiting every opportunity that presents itself in the meantime, to enhance the sea resource by optimizing the potential of the current infrastructure. From this point of view, responding to the needs of boaters by making the areas available to them seemed to us to be a way of implementing the activities if possible and with them the resulting socio-economic development”.
