With a press release, Pietro Sciotto, president of Acr Messina, tries to rebalance the relationship with the fans and the square. A long post in which Sciotto tries to explain what has happened in recent months, renews his trust and esteem for coach Modica and ds Pavone, confirms the negotiation with the American fund and asks the people of Messina to stand by the team, trying to calm the protests of recent weeks.

“Two days before the start of the championship – writes the president – I feel first of all the duty to thank all those who have shown me affection and closeness, supporting me and especially the Acr Messina in this difficult moment.
In all honesty and sincerity, I am proud to point out that I am first and foremost a Messina football fansince always, since my birth; and I will never do anything that could intentionally cause harm to this great love of mine.which I adore as my own creature.
Even though I have seriously risked my life twice in the last twelve monthshowever I have always continued to give my blood and my heart to the yellow and red colours.
With this spirit I have started the well-known sale negotiation that exists with the American fund (with French presidency and buyer) it is widely documented, although bound by the mutual confidentiality agreement.
In the meantime, I have assured my full commitment even in these last terrible months for me. I have continued to work to ensure that Acr Messina was ready to participate competitively in the Serie C championship.

In this regard, it is important to point out that, Despite the protests that risk leading to a decrease in season tickets, tickets and sponsors, I have assigned the sports director and our coach the same budget as last year. I reiterate – he concludes – that all my efforts are and will be aimed at ensuring that Messina takes the field with the strongest possible team and that it wins; for my happiness and for the happiness of the fans.
Hence the appeal to the square: “I hope that the young footballers, who are about to live an important sporting experience, are assured the best context, even emotional, to give the maximum of their possibilities. And finally, I wish good work and great success to every member of the company staff and I thank them for their daily commitment; a special thanks to our mister Modica and the sports director Pavone to whom I feel fraternally bound and to whom I renew my unconditional esteem and trust.
Good championship to all. Forza Messina. Always”.
