The Municipality of Crotone has “consciously procured” an “advantage” to the Daippo consortium by paying the bills of the users of the Olympic swimming pool from 2013 to 2019 in its place. The Court of Crotone writes in the reasons for the sentence, pronounced on October 21, 2024, who sentenced two former managers of the Body and acquitted the other five defendants involved in the process on the management of the plant.
As will be remembered, the investigation coordinated by the Crotone prosecutor’s office came to light on November 7, 2019 with five prohibitions of residence carried out by the Digos agents and led to the fall of the then municipal administration led by the mayor Ugo Pugliese. At the end of the trial, the judges inflicted 4 years and 10 months to Gianfranco De Martino and 1 year, 9 months and 20 days of imprisonment to Giuseppe Germinara. The two were recognized responsible for having “obtained” to the sports association, signing the liquidation determinations, “that expense savings that, allowing him to return to the management costs, would have allowed him to continue to manage the swimming pool”.
