The congressional phase of the Democratic Party of Messina ended today with the ratification of the election of the provincial secretary Armando Hyerace and the 100 members of the provincial assembly.
Various representatives from the world of trade unions, associations and the political references of the centre-left forces were present, with whom there was broad and full agreement on the issues of work, development and rights. That said, I have never proposed my secretariat as that of a single man in command and I do not make decisions without discussing it with the many with whom the motion in support of me was constructed. Today would certainly have been the best opportunity to bring proposals and requests, initiatives and objectives to everyone’s attention. In any case, none of this changes what I have always maintained one iota. And not because victory or defeat depends on one, three, one hundred votes, but because we are part of the same party. For these reasons, I renew my desire to take charge of building a management of the party that includes everyone and in particular those who really want to commit. In the interest first and foremost of our community which cannot and must divide in the face of the important challenges that await us.”
