61.5% of Catanzaro voters rejected the constitutional reform wanted by the Meloni government. A figure that exceeds the national one by almost eight percentage points, the regional one by almost five and is third among the Calabrian provinces: in Cosenza 66.5% voted No and in Crotone 62%. Numbers which however place the three Calabrian provinces among the most convinced in rejecting the reform. Catanzaro also ranks high among the regional capitals that voted No: at the top of this special ranking is Bologna with 68% of votes against the reform.
In numerical terms, over 22 thousand voters voted “No”, around 13 thousand ticked the Yes box, for an overall turnout that stood at just under 53%. The section with the highest turnout was number 35, in the city centre, one of the three sections located at the “Pascoli” middle school: 66.7%. Here the “No” prevailed with 56%. On the contrary, the lowest figure in the city was recorded in section number 61, the one which belongs entirely to Viale Isonzo, in the Pistoia district: here the count stopped at 22.83% (56 out of 244 registered, with the No vote convincing 63% of voters). In the 2022 municipal elections, with an overall turnout in the first round of 65%, 56% of eligible voters went to vote in section 61.
