A day dedicated to the little ones and to the values of legality and prevention. It is the one that took place at the Oratory of the Church of Sant’Antonio Abate in Terreti, an initiative promoted by the educators of the oratory with the aim of giving children a direct experience of citizenship and safety. The protagonists of the event are the police squad cars and dog units of the State Police. The children were able to closely observe the work of the operators and drug-sniffing dogs, ask questions and participate in simulations. A concrete way to transform legality from an abstract concept to a lived experience, in a climate of play, trust and sharing.
There was also space for fire prevention with the Volunteers of Nautica San Gregorio, who presented a firefighting module used for forest fires. The little ones tried their hand at putting out a fake “flame”, learning the importance of prevention and teamwork. “Seeing the children curious, attentive and smiling was the greatest satisfaction” – is the comment of the oratory educators who organized the day. “True wealth is being together, sharing and growing safely. Protecting them today means building the community of tomorrow.” Special thanks go to the State Police, Nautica San Gregorio, the volunteers and all the families who participated. And long live the clasped hands and the smiles that filled everyone’s hearts.
